The British explorer David Livingstone discovered the Victoria Falls in the year 1855. His monument is located at the beginning of the trail leading to the waterfall on the Zambian side (as is generally known, on the other side of the waterfall is Zimbabwe). Both parts are connected by a bridge spanning the gorge of the Zambezi River.
Der britische Forschungsreisende David Lingstone entdeckte die Victoriafälle im Jahr 1855. Das Denkmal steht am Anfang des Weges, der zum Wasserfall auf der Sambia-Seite des Falls führt: bekanntlich gehört die andere Seite zu Simbabwe. Die beiden Teile sind mit einer hohen Brücke über die Sambesischlucht verbunden.
