Mt. St. Michel#

Visiting of Mont St. Michel is highly recommended, although the hill with the monastery is situated a few kilometers behind the Breton border in Normandy. From there, the route leads across the mighty castle of Fougeres and the beautiful cities of Rennes and Vannes with half-timbered houses to Carnac, the heart of the megalithic culture. Contemplative villages and old-bretonic towns such as Quimper are en route to the most western point of France, the storm-tossed Pointe du Raz.
Nicht verzichten sollte man auf einen Besuch des Mont St. Michel, auch wenn der Klosterberg wenige Kilometer hinter der bretonischen Grenze in der Normandie liegt. Von dort führt die Route über die mächtige Burg von Fougeres und schöne Fachwerkstädtchen wie Rennes und Vannes in das Herz der Megalithkultur - nach Carnac. Beschauliche Dörfer und urbretonische Städte wie Quimper liegen am Weg zum westlichsten Punkt Frankreichs, dem sturmumtosten Pointe du Raz.
