Lake Inarijärvi Inarijärvi, Enare, Finnland is the third-largest lake in Finland and the largest one in Lapland. It covers an area of 1.040km² in the northern part of Lapland and encompasses about 3.000 islands. A power plant in Russia, Kaitakoski, regulates the lake, which empties northwards through the Paatsjoki at the mouth of the Varangerfjord in the Barents Sea. The freezing period normally extends from November to early June this far north of the Arctic Circle. Trout, lake salmon, arctic char, white fish, grayling, perch and pike are found in the lake.
