Tallahassee 30.455,-84.253333 is the capital of the U.S. state of Florida, covers an area of 103.5 sq mi (268 sq km) and has a population of 181,376 (2010). Tallahassee is a center for trade and agriculture in the Florida region and Southwest Georgia. It is home to the Florida A&M University, one of the country's largest historically black universities by total enrollment. Tallahassee is a Muskogean Indian word that is often translated as "old fields" or "old town".
