After a drying phase and the addition of iodine, the white gold becomes table salt. In the last step it is packed into portions of 1 kg. For 1000 such bags the salt traders are paying one Euro. Thus nobody gains wealth and so Colchani carves out a miserable existence at the end of the world.
Nach einer Trocknungsphase und der Zugabe von Jod entsteht aus dem weißen Gold Speisesalz. Im letzten Arbeitsschritt erfolgt die Verpackung in 1 kg-Portionen. Für 1000 solcher Beutel zahlen die Salzhändler umgerechnet einen Euro. Reich wird damit niemand und so fristet Colchani ein kärgliches Dasein am Ende der Welt.
